Fixing Your Eyes (/sreyes)

Why your eyes might look wrong

Every Minecraft skin draws its eyes in a slightly different place. When you turn on a dojutsu, the mod draws the Sharingan, Byakugan, Rinnegan and so on over your face. To keep your skin's own eyes from showing through, the server makes a copy of your skin with the eye area painted over, and everyone sees that copy.

The default settings work for most skins, but not all of them. If your skin's eyes show next to the dojutsu, the paint is the wrong colour, or the dojutsu eyes sit too high or too low, fix it with /sreyes.

Opening the editor

Type /sreyes in chat. The Eyes Hider menu opens. Whatever you change only affects your own skin.

What each part does

Part What it does
Before / Zone editor Your face, zoomed in. Left-drag paints the zone to hide, right-drag erases it. The counter shows how many pixels are hidden.
Fill eye band Fills the usual eye row in one click. A good starting point.
Clear Removes the whole zone.
After (draft) A live preview of your face with the zone painted over.
Fill color The colour the zone is painted with. It should match your skin tone.
Eye color picker Click it, then click a pixel of your skin to copy its exact colour into Fill color.
Eye overlay Y offset Moves the dojutsu eyes up or down on your face, from -4 (up) to +4 (down).
Erase hat layer in zone Off by default, because your hair and fringe live on the hat layer. Turn it on only if your skin also has eyes drawn on the hat layer. Those pixels are then erased (made see-through).
Reset defaults Back to the server's default settings.
Apply Saves it. Everyone sees the new version of your skin.

Step by step

  1. Type /sreyes.
  2. Press Fill eye band, or paint over your skin's eyes with left-drag.
  3. Use the eye color picker on your cheek or forehead so the paint matches your skin.
  4. Turn your dojutsu on (G) and check it in third person (F5). If the eyes sit too high or too low, change the Y offset.
  5. Press Apply.

Good to know

  • Your settings are saved on the server and stay for every session.
  • If you change your Minecraft skin, the server notices the next time you join and remakes the painted copy with your settings.
  • If something still looks wrong, post a screenshot in the bug-reports channel, together with what /sreyes cache says.
